We have two delightful, stone-built, self-catering cottages to let in the tranquil rural setting of southwest Arran, in a commanding yet secluded location above the Kilbrannan Sound, on the upper slopes of the Corriecravie Valley

 The Hayshed & Ploughman’s Bothy, are located on Ivy Cottage Farm, one of Arran’s traditional sea-farms, some four miles south of Blackwaterfoot, and a quarter of a mile seawards on a well-maintained stone track running along the Sliddery/Corriecravie boundary

 Our cottages have been converted to a high standard and both offer a comfortable, well-equipped and secluded base for your Arran holiday.

The cottages are ideal for golfers, couples, small families or for anyone just wanting to get away from it all to relax and unwind, far from the mainland bustle.

Our nearest pub and eatery is the attractive Lagg Hotel, two and a half miles to the south. The nearest golf course is Shiskine (at Blackwaterfoot), and we are close to the renowned course at Machrie which is just four miles north of Shiskine on the west coast, as well as being equi-distant from the courses at Whiting Bay, Lamlash and Brodick.

Hazelbank is a delightful old cottage in the mountainous north of the island, nestling under the hillside halfway between Lochranza’s ancient castle and the ferry to Claonaig.

Lochranza is an unspoilt small village in the mountainous north of Arran, lying around the island’s only sea loch.Basic supplies can be obtained from the butcher and the campsite shop. There is an hotel serving bar meals. The village has the island’s only distillery and one of the seven golf courses; both serve refreshments.

The cottage is beside the sea loch with wonderful views across Kilbrannan Sound to Kintyre and Loch Fyne. It is set well back from the road in a large garden with a hard standing for car parking.

Hazelbank was built in the early 19th century and has been refurbished in the last three years, maintaining its character and remaining very much a “home”. It sleeps 6 in one double and two twin-bedded rooms
