Saffron House is a friendly and comfortable family run guest house.
Built during the 17th century it was originally a farmhouse which still
retains much of its charm and character.
Set in an elevated position in south facing gardens with large decked
area and swimming pool where you can relax and unwind with a Devonshire
cream tea or a drink from our licensed bar. The private car park is
situated at the front of the guest house which leads down to the main
road. From there it is a 5 minute walk down to Combe Martin Bay where
you can explore the many rock pools and seek out the local pubs and gift
shops.
Combe Martin is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with the
Southwest Coastal Path on our door step. Being on the north coast of
Devon and bordering Exmoor we are in an ideal position for all you
ramblers and dog lovers, you will also find horse riding and safari
trips. For the beach lovers we are within easy reach of the long sandy
beaches of Woolacombe and Saunton Sands where bathing and surfing are
popular.
The nearest town is Ilfracombe with its pretty harbour where you can
take boat trips to Lundy Island or Coastal Cruises.
Other local attractions are Combe Martin Wild Life Park with the famous
“Wolfman” Shaun Ellis, Exmoor Zoo, Watermouth Castle & family theme
park, Ilfracombe Golf Course, Kayaking from Combe Martin Bay, Coarse &
Sea Fishing and much more. |

For those who would like a little more activity, Northcote Manor has a
hard tennis court and croquet lawn with many other activities which can
be organised by our staff. Beyond our grounds, there is much to enjoy in
North Devon. Almost on our doorstep there is the challenging 18-hole
libbaton Golf Course. There is game fishing on the River Taw and
slightly further afield, on the River Mole. Riding stables are close by
