The Hotel consists of
20 bedrooms and is located in the heart of Salisbury, just a few
minutes’ walk from the Salisbury Cathedral, shops, restaurants and local
attractions. We are just 20 minutes’ drive from Stonehenge and the
rolling countryside of Wiltshire, with all its historical gardens,
houses and walkways. All of this makes us a great tourist destination.
We are also a great business stop-over as we are located 5 minutes from
the Salisbury train station, 40 minutes from Bournemouth or Southampton
airport/docks and 50 minutes from Portsmouth harbour.
Sundays and throughout the week, we offer a quiet, relaxed environment.
At the weekend, the very busy bar on the ground floor is open until 2am
and offers DJ entertainment and is part of the Salisbury nightclub
circuit. You will hear bar or street noise in some of the hotels rooms
at weekends. Please make sure you book for the right experience,
weekdays quiet and relaxed, weekends lively, busy and possibly noisy
until 2.30am.
The hotels bedrooms do not have telephones or air conditioning, however,
they have been fully refurbished in a contemporary style and offer lots
of extras you would not expect from accommodation with a hotels rating
of 2 star, -free wifi, 22-inch flat-screen TVs with Freeview, plentiful
tea, coffee and hot chocolate supplies. All bedrooms are accessible via
stairs or an original wood-panelled passenger lift. All rooms have
ironing boards, hairdryers, ceiling fans, a small safe and a high
standard of towelling and linen. There are heated towel rails in all
bathrooms. Parking is just two minutes away at pay and display car
parks. (Loading bay at the hotels entrance for check in/out.) We have a
selection of adjoining rooms to suit families or groups, along with a
selection of double rooms with king sized beds or single rooms. Our
bedrooms are all very comfortable to relax in, after a stroll around the
historic City of Salisbury or after dining in our restaurant.
You can enjoy breakfast from 7.30am until 10am Monday to Saturday and
from 8am until 10am on Sunday. Food is available all day until late,
with a range of traditional English fare including locally sourced
steaks, burgers, homemade pies and great fish and chips. |

Situated on the edge
of the Cotswolds, Monkton Farleigh is an unspoiled, picturesque
conservation village. The farmhouse is set in its own grounds,
originally a barn which dates back to the 1850's, which has been
sympathetically converted, some 25 years ago by ourselves, retaining
many of its original features. The village lies 5 miles east of Bath and
5 miles from the Saxon town of Bradford-on-Avon.
Our accommodation
comprises of three charming double rooms, all of which have en-suite
facilities. Our family suite consists of three adjoining rooms. All
rooms have central heating, TV, radio/alarms, hairdryers, hospitality
trays with the little extras of hot chocolate and mineral water.
Spacious guest lounge
can be enjoyed for watching TV, reading or playing board games. Large
french windows lead on to the sunlit conservatory with a spectacular
view of the garden and farmland. Beyond this, views extend over
Sailsbury Plane, Westbury White Horse and beyond. There is plenty of
outside garden furniture on the patio, children’s slide and swings,
trampoline and heated swimming pool
For campers our small
site is best suited to those looking for the piece and tranquillity that
our surrounding countryside offers. You will not find hard standing or
electric hookup facilities associated with big sites here. A very simple
camping experience where you can be in touch with nature. Overnight
accommodation for visiting horses is welcome in our American barn
stables
The Kings Arms, a
17th century Coaching Inn, provides excellent food and is just a stroll
away through the pretty village. We are ideally located for visiting the
World Heritage City of Bath. 'Aquas Sulis' boasts the Roman Baths, Pump
Rooms, Royal Crescent and the recently finished Bath Spa. Boutique and
high street shopping can also be found in Bath, with Jamie Oliver’s
Italian restaurant and the River Cottage cafe offering a break for weary
feet. Stonehenge, Avebury, Wells, Glastonbury, Cheddar, Bristol and the
Cotswolds are within easy reach.
