The Kingsway is an

relatively short distance away where views of the rockiest cliff
formations within the UK can be viewed. Other similarly located villages
within the Exmoor region as well as the differing array of tourist
facilities ensure that Minehead remains popular throughout the autumn
and winter periods.
Three
types of room are available in the form of double, twin and family
layouts. A large guest dining area is provided where a varied selection
of food can be requested for breakfast or the optional evening meal.

The Greenwood, a four star rated guest
house, is a stunning Georgian property in rural Somerset, offering
golfers comfortable quality accommodation after a strenuous day on one
of the many golf courses in the area. The house is surrounded by
attractive gardens, and provides a home away from home for visitors.
Burnham and Berrow golf club is probably
the most famous course in the area. It is a challenging links course
overlooking the Bristol Channel. In contrast there are several rural
courses within a 30 minute drive: Enmore, Wedmore, Taunton Vale, Weston
Super Mare, Brean, Oake. Tee times can be arranged for you at all of
these courses.
The single, double and family/twin

Our three Somerset holiday cottages offer a true ‘escape to the
country’, surrounded by beautiful farmland, meadows and stunning
un-spoilt countryside, yet with easy access to the golden sands of
England’s west-coast beaches.
The 2 and 3 bedroom cottages make a fantastic holiday destination
all year round. The original farmhouse has been traced back to the
late 1600s.
No longer part of a working farm, the farmhouse was recently
converted into three, family friendly self-catering holiday cottages
adjoining the proprietors accommodation, and Christine and Roy have
been welcoming guests to enjoy a delightful stay in the well
appointed four-star cottages. Off road parking is available adjacent
to the cottages and dogs are welcome with prior arrangement.
Weston-super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea are just a fifteen minute
drive from the cottages whilst Cheddar Caves and Gorge, Wookey Hole,
Bath, Longleat Safari Park and Exmoor National Park are a short
journey. Situated less than five miles from a great variety of pubs,
restaurants and take-aways dining out poses no problem! The
picturesque village of Lympsham is just ½ mile away with a village
shop stocked with everyday items. Why not book a tennis court for an
hour or watch a cricket match?
There are three excellent golf courses within five miles and both
coarse and sea fishing are available locally. The coast, Mendip and
Quantock Hills and the Somerset Levels, provide a variety of
opportunities for walking and studying wildlife

Pear Tree Cottage
is situated in the Blackdown Hills designated as an Area of Outstanding
Natural Beauty. We are in a very quiet rural location in the bottom
comer of Somerset close to the Devon border. The hills are laced with
narrow unspoilt roads and lanes with hedgerows abounding in natural
flora and fauna. There are many footpaths and the area is ideal for the
walker. Pear Tree Cottage with its traditional colourful border garden
with croquet lawn, and kitchen garden, providing some seasonal
vegetables, together with a newly developed arboretum - 3.5 acres
overall - is in the middle of it.
We let a family
suite and a separate double and single room. When the double is booked
first we do not then let the single to a stranger so that guests can
enjoy private use of the adjacent facilities. We can and do sometimes
accommodate two children in the single room either sharing a four foot
bed or by adding a folding bed. It is not unknown for two adults to
share the bed as well in full knowledge beforehand. Not many cats can be
swung but it is cosy! |
