Our lovely secluded
cottages, each sleeping 2-4people, are situated in a very quiet part of
Durness - Ideal for families interested in walking, fishing, boating
etc. Regular visitors have said they appreciate the freedom, peace and
quiet and friendly atmosphere.
100
miles west of John o Groats on the north coast is Durness, the most
North Westerly inhabited village and locality on the British
Mainland. Scattered around a string of sheltered sandy coves and grassy
cliff tops, It straddles the turning point on the main road as it swings
east from the inland peat bogs to the coast. It is also the jumping-off
point for rugged Cape Wrath, the windswept promontory at the Scotland's
north-west tip
The
area offers demanding hill walks, fishing, golf, amazing beaches, and a
haven for bird watchers and a paradise for lovers of the multitude of
wild flowers
